Seventeen Skulls Virtual Book Tour, Day 15

I have returned – more or less unscathed – from the wilds to bring another update, and not a moment too soon! It’s down to the wire, but we’ve managed to keep the streak alive at fifteen days of non-stop touring.

Today we visit The Scratching Post, where we find a lovely section on Seventeen Skulls and a note that the giveaway counter has topped 1,800. I should point out, by the way, that this giveaway includes an Amazon gift card and an ebook version of my first novel, Terror in High Water. My thanks to our gracious and hospitable host for the day.

We had a second tour stop scheduled for today, but based on my experience with their website it appears they may be experiencing some technical difficulties. Hopefully we can reconnect with them later in the tour.

As always, a hearty thank you to everyone who takes the time to follow along here, to those who pop in from time to time to keep up to date, and for those who discover us along the way. I always enjoy seeing both new and familiar faces around here and on my other social media platforms. Your support and interest are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to pop over to my contact page and subscribe for news and updates delivered directly to your inbox in a most timely fashion.

That’s all for today, but tomorrow we’re right back here with more book tour action and another stop as we dive headlong into the back half of this awesome journey. Until next time, stay safe, talk soon!

Seventeen Skulls Virtual Book Tour, Day 14

It’s long-weekend Sunday, and we’re rapidly approaching the halfway point of this wild and crazy book tour. Hard to believe, I know – for those who have been following along this entire time, or have jumped aboard at some point during the process and have stuck around, let me just say how much I appreciate it. And as someone who really doesn’t like self-promotion or bothering people with what could be construed as repetitive noise, let me assure you it’s been difficult to keep posting these tour updates day in and day out.

With all of that said, I have determined that I will write a post a day throughout the duration of this book tour, and to the best of my ability I will continue to do so. And on that note, today is day 14, and here we go with today’s guest host, Introspective Press. Thanks to them for the opportunity to appear in their space and be seen by all of their readers.

A quick reminder, for those who may have missed it: last Thursday Sheryl’s debut novel, The Nixies of McGillivray Lake, was released through World Castle Publishing. If you or someone you know enjoys young adult fiction, ‘Nixies’ is a chilling dark fantasy tale that’s worth a look.

As the long weekend rolls onward into Monday, let me leave you with a quick reminder to pop into my contact page and subscribe to my website for news and updates delivered right to your inbox. We’re back tomorrow with a double whammy of tour stops, so come on back and see what we have in store! Until then, stay safe, talk soon!

Seventeen Skulls Virtual Book Tour, Day 13

Happy Saturday, and welcome back for the lucky 13th day here on the Seventeen Skulls book tour. It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly two weeks already, with so much happening along the way. This is also day two of my remote posting experiment, which I sincerely hope is going off smoothly and without a hitch.

Today’s stop on the tour takes us to a blog called Defining Ways. Big thanks for letting us stop by and including Seventeen Skulls in the rotation!

Short and sweet today, I don’t want to take up too much of your Saturday. Thanks for dropping by as always, you’re welcome here any time. Don’t forget to take a moment to visit my contact page and sign up for news and updates sent right to your inbox. I hope you’re enjoying the virtual book tour and checking out some of the stops along the way.

Enjoy your weekend, and until next time, stay safe, talk soon!

Seventeen Skulls Virtual Book Tour, Day 12

I’m trying something for the first time here today. If you’re reading this, it means it worked. If you’re not, well, I guess that means nobody’s the wiser!

Today marks the first live daily book tour update that isn’t coming to you live. As I mentioned yesterday, I have departed the cozy confines of civilization for the deep and dark woods of central NB – the source material, I might add, of many of my stories. For now, I’m not researching or even thinking much about writing, but rather enjoying the peace and solitude only found in such out of the way places.

As a result, I’m writing this, err… yesterday, by the time you’re seeing it. That’s right, I’ve traveled through time just to bring you a blog post! Ok, not really, but it’s still pretty cool how this is possible. And on that note, today’s virtual book tour stopover is 4covert2overt. It’s a fun website with a ton of stuff going on. Big thanks to my gracious hosts of the day for helping shine the spotlight in my direction!

Happy Friday (or Saturday, depending on where you may be), and thanks once again for taking the time to drop in for a visit. Your interest and support is always greatly appreciated. Thanks also for those who have signed up on my contact page for news and updates via email. It’s a great way to stay in the loop. Until next time, stay safe, talk soon!

Seventeen Skulls Virtual Book Tour, Day 11

Here we are once again, moving ever forward along this wild freight train we call the Seventeen Skulls book tour. Today’s post comes to you a bit later than usual; let’s just say it’s been a hectic, crazy day, and leave it at that.

One good thing did come from today’s chaos, however: the long-awaited debut novel from Sheryl Doiron-Powers was released. It’s a YA paranormal dark fantasy called The Nixies of McGillivray Lake, and I have it on good authority it’s quite a compelling read.

Today, on day eleven, we’re gracing the pages of the Sexy Nerd Revue. There’s lots of cool stuff going on over there, so feel free to pop in and have a look around. I’m sure she’d love the company!

As for me, I’m going off grid for the long weekend. But fear not, the book tour will continue daily. We’ve got lots of tour stops along the way, and you’ll find each of them right here as the days roll by. If you haven’t already, pop over to my contact page to have all the latest book tour news and updates delivered right to your inbox.

Thank you as always for your continued support and interest in the things I do. Have a safe and happy Labour Day weekend, if you happen to celebrate such a thing where you live. If not, have a safe and happy regular weekend. Until next time, stay safe, talk soon!

Seventeen Skulls Virtual Book Tour, Day Ten

We have, incredibly, reached the one third milestone on our virtual journey together. And what a trip it’s been, I must say. Over a dozen bloggers and reviewers have stepped up to welcome us into their little corners of the world, and we’re still only a third of the way home.

Speaking of our gracious hosts, we’ve got two more for you today. First up we’ve got the Reading Authors Network, where we learn the giveaway counter has rolled past the 1,400 mark. That’s a lot of eyes on little ol’ me and my book. Thanks all, for taking a moment to visit the tour stops and check into it, it means a lot.

After we’ve perused the sights and sounds at the RAN, it’s onward to the promo corner of Writing Dreams (edit: we’re not actually up on their site yet, but I’m including it here anyway – there’s lots of cool stuff to see there besides me!)

I’m having a good time with this virtual book tour, and I hope you’re following along and enjoying yourself too. We’re back tomorrow with yet another guest host in another brand new space! Don’t forget to drop by my contact page to get set up to receive news and updates directly to your inbox. Until then, stay safe, talk soon!

Seventeen Skulls Virtual Book Tour, Day Nine

Another day, another update from the tour front. Welcome once again to news from the virtual road!

When I undertook this little project, not only embarking on a book tour but posting daily updates on its progress, I really had no idea of what to expect. I’d never done such a thing before and wasn’t sure what was involved with a virtual book tour. I assumed it would involve a lot less travel than an actual book tour, and as it turns out I was correct – so far the entire thing has been done from the cozy confines of my house.

But a lot of people have been involved in some capacity or other (very few of whom have ever been in my house, I might add) – like today’s host, the thirteenth stop on the ninth day of the tour, the I’m All About Books site. The host, Jody, seems to have a wide range of reading interests and features books of many genres and styles. A nice mix for anyone looking to venture outside their usual routines and check out something new.

We’ve got a long weekend coming in a few days, but never fear – yours truly will have daily updates throughout. No time to rest on my laurels, the promotional machine never rests!

On that note, I’ll sign off for today with my daily dose of eternal gratitude for the continued support I’ve received from many friends old and new. I’m so glad you enjoyed Seventeen Skulls and I hope you’ll pass the word on to others you know who might enjoy it too. If you’re one of those who has read Seventeen Skulls and liked it, my first novel, Terror in High Water, might be up your alley as well.

I’ll be back tomorrow with another tour update – two stops tomorrow! Don’t forget to pop over to my contact page and sign up for instant updates and news sent directly to your inbox. Until next time, stay safe, talk soon!

Seventeen Skulls Virtual Book Tour, Day Eight

It’s the start of another brand new week, and what better way to kick things off than another stop on the book tour? As luck would have it, we have one of those today!

This long and winding virtual road takes us to Books a Plenty, a blog about book reviews. They put up some info on Seventeen Skulls, and while I dropped in for a visit I noticed the giveaway counter is just shy of 1,300 people.

I’m thrilled with all the attention Seventeen Skulls is getting from all over the place. It’s also great to see so many new faces dropping by the website. Welcome to all the newest additions here, make yourself at home, feel free to have a look around. Speaking of which, don’t forget to pop over to my contact page and sign up to have all the latest news and updates delivered straight to your inbox.

That’s all for today, but be sure to check in frequently for all the tour stops and other interesting tidbits. Speaking of which, we’ve got another stop lined up for tomorrow. Until then,

stay safe, talk soon!

Seventeen Skulls Virtual Book Tour, Day Seven

Lucky number seven on the tour schedule is a rare day off. I said I’d have updates here each day of the tour, and that holds true even on off days. That’s right, no tour stops today, but the streak continues here!

It’s been a whirlwind of activity so far, not only with these daily updates and all the reviewers and bloggers we’ve visited but also with those who have read (or plan to read) the book. I discovered today that quite a number of people have marked Seventeen Skulls as “to-read” on Goodreads, which is very cool. Speaking of Goodreads, there are some nice reviews on there, as well as over on Amazon. While it would be lovely to see more and more of those kind words from readers, the ones that are up there already make me feel really good about this book.

Here’s a sample of what some readers felt about Seventeen Skulls:

“Another good read from the pen of New Brunswick’s Joe Powers.”

“Seventeen Skulls is a compelling journey into an unspeakable terror told with supreme skill and mastery of the horror genre.”

“…a very classic horror story. Reminiscent of Stephen King, it draws readers in with supernatural elements that were similar to those of H. P. Lovecraft.”

If you like horror and/or suspenseful thrillers and are thinking about reading Seventeen Skulls, I hope you’ll give it a look. And if you’ve already read the book and enjoyed it, I hope you’ll consider leaving a review, either at Amazon or Goodreads or both places. Reviews and ratings are the lifeblood of all authors and are arguably the best and easiest way to help get the word out about a book you’re read and liked. I guarantee it won’t go unnoticed, or unappreciated!

On that happy note, I wish you a happy Sunday and bid you a fond farewell. Tomorrow we’re back to the grindstone but for now, don’t forget to sign up for emailed updates and news over at my contact page. Until next time, stay safe, talk soon!

Seventeen Skulls Virtual Book Tour, Day Six

A lazy Saturday afternoon and I’m sitting in my office (the end of the couch) with a cat to my left, a dog to my right, and a visit from an old friend on the schedule for this afternoon. In the meantime, here I am along with you as we file another tour day under our belts. As a matter of fact, for this Saturday edition we’re adding a bonus stop on the tour.

First up we pay a visit to A Wonderful World of Words, where we find nice coverage of the book and we discover that the giveaway counter is now just shy of 1,200 hits. We’ve got three book excerpts and a segment of an interview here.

Today’s bonus tour stop was late to the party yesterday but is now back on the schedule. We’ve got Momma Says: To Read or Not to Read, a review site that covers a lot of books and seems to get a lot of traffic. Glad to see an appearance here, as yesterday it looked like it wasn’t going to happen.

With our two stops now discussed (and thanks as always to our gracious hosts), I’ll let you get back to your weekend. Tomorrow I’ll pop in briefly to talk about the one tour stop we’ve got lined up, but otherwise we no return you to your regularly scheduled… well, whatever it is you do on your weekends! Don’t forget to sign up for emailed news and updates on my contact page, there’s always room for more of you to drop on in. Welcome to the latest newcomers, feel free to have a look around the site and see if anything strikes your fancy. Until next time, stay safe, talk soon!
